Overview
This course will be an advanced reading course covering various fields of new media. Participants will discuss state-of-the-art conference papers to be presented at the 14th Bled Electronic Commerce Conference, June 25-26,
'01 ahead of time. Participants will be strongly encouraged to then travel to the conference in Bled, Slovenia, and meet and discuss with the  authors of the papers as well as the other members of the global community.
Preview versions of the papers will be distributed during the first session on April 25, '01. Up to three students may work on the same papers. Students will have to summarize the papers, thoroughly discuss the research procedures and the main arguments, cross-check with some of the references in the paper and also with other papers written by the same authors and critically analyse the author(s)' findings over time.

Admission - Certification
The course is designed for PennState Exchange Students and foreign CEMS students. German students shall receive a 'Ln-Schein in Medienmanagement'. Students shall commit themselves to go to Bled before registering for the course. Limited seats available. Online-registration available as of January 15, '01 under www.mtm.uni-koeln.de.

Grading
Grading will be based on written reports (50%), class presentation (30%), and class participation (20%).
