Overview
The course will cover various aspects of management of infrastructures for the provision of electronic communications services incl. content, i.e., copper-, fibre-, wireless, and broadcasting networks from an economic perspective. Furthermore, we will discuss the development of competition in telecom markets and the role of regulation.

30.04., 07.05., 14.05., 04.06., 11.06. (exam only), all '10, in XXIII WiSo-Building.

Grading / Credit Points

• Written exam (11.06.'10) covering the material presented in the class sessions (50% - individually)

• Oral participation throughout the sessions (30% - individually)

• Assignment (20% - individually)
  Write a summary of no more than 1500 words of the following text:
  Cave, M. (2004) Economic Aspects of the New Regulatory Regime for Electronic Communications Services, in: Buigues, P., Rey, P. (eds.) The Economics of Antitrust and Regulation in Telecommunications, Edward Elgar, 27-41.

Deadline for the assignment: 22.04.'10, 11:00 o'clock, Dept. of Media and Technology Management, three copies of text and one electronic version on CD (no eMail) in Word (.doc).
Participation in all, but one 90 minute session (!)  is required for receiving Credit Points! Students must achieve an average of 4,0 or better.
