Overview
The seminar will cover selected aspects of managing platforms and markets from the perspectives of (1) t
elcos, cable and satellite providers, (2) public and private Broadcasters; and (3) Over-the-Top (OTT) providers such as Spotify, Amazon und Netflix. Further, it will offer insights on the auctioning for 'platform and markets' - critical licenses. The course will be offered by Dr. Rainer Minz and C. Loebbecke in cooperation with several prestigious practitioner guests - at least one per session date - names and dates will be provided in the first session.

Dr. Rainer Minz holds a PhD (Dr. rer. pol.) in Management from the University of Cologne. He worked 25 years as Partner for The Boston Consulting Group (BCG) in many different functions and industries, e.g. as Global Leader of the Information Technology Practice from 2000 to 2007 and as Leader of the German speaking Public Sector Practice from 2012-2015. He is now a Senior Advisor to BCG and owns an Investment and Consulting Company, which primarily helps start-up companies to develop sustainable market strategies.

(a) Summarize the viewpoints of the three main speakers (100 words each)

(b) Outline - following the audio stream - the impact of ad-blocking on business model considerations for three different stakeholder groups: (1) Ad-Blocking software provider, (2) ad-placing media outlets, (3) ad-placing consumer goods companies (100 words each)

There may be repetitions between (a) and (b), but make sure that you bring your short writing to the exact point. The assignment does not ask for your view or assessment.
