Overview

This master level discussion course looks for yet unanswered questions when it comes to AI challenging economic media paradigms. Which element and which argument in media economics does AI change and which does it not change? What do we really know about the economic and societal impact of AI in the media? Where do we mainly extrapolate from our individual experiences? To which questions would we like to know the answer? Finally, once we know the question, how could we proceed to come close to a convincing answer? What can we learn from the academic literature  that helps us build a compelling line of argument?
Students will not need any technological experience. They should be ready to identify open issues, think through different lines of arguments, and discuss openly. Upon some ground work,
we will visit the Global Media Forum (GMF) in Bonn (June 23 / 24) and mirror our questions and thoughts against several presentations.

The course goal is to develop, fine-tune, and back-up one's arguments (not technical solutions!) focusing on the need to create mid-term economic or societal value.
