Overview
This course will focus on Mobile Human Computer Interaction. Participants will read, analyse and discuss research papers in the field. The focus will be on media playing a pivotal role in understanding the issue of human machine relationships.

The papers to be read and written about will be distributed during the first session. Up to three students may work on the same paper. Students will be required to summarize and analyse the paper providing a thorough discussion about the research enhanced by critical comments. Additional, self-collected readings will be required for an appropriate paper analysis.

Admission and Confirmation of Registration
Online registration ends on October 16, 2002, 12:00 o'clock. No exceptions possible after that date ! You will receive a confirmation e-mail by October 17, 2002, whether you are accepted or not.

Certificate
Students receiving a final grade of 4,0 or better will be awarded a 'Ln-Schein' in Media Management''.

Grading
Grading will be based on the written report (minimum 4,000 words, for teams of more than one student we require a minimum of 3,000 words per student), class presentation and class participation.

1^st Session: October 25, 2002, 13:30 - 19:30 (Rm 401, Pohligstr. 1), Distribution of research articles. General preparation for the course, introduction to topic, guidelines for assignments.
Assignment Due: December 5, 2002, 12:00 a.m. (with three printed copies and a diskette) at Seminar für Allgemeine BWL, Medien- und Technologiemanagement, Pohligstr, 1, 50969, Köln.

2^nd Session: January 10, 2003, 13:30 - 19:30 (Rm 401, Pohligstr. 1), Presentation and Discussion.

3rd Session: January 17, 2003, 13:30 - 19:30 (Rm 401, Pohligstr. 1), Presentation and Discussion.

Written Report (in English)
The written report should be written in scientific style (see mtm.uni-koeln.de Þ Wiss. Arbeiten) and cover the assigned paper following the main headings:

• Summary of the paper (following the paper subheadings)

• Research Problem / Research Question of the assigned paper

• Research Design / Research Approach of the assigned paper (description, critical analysis of approach chosen for the given problem, and the quality of its application)

• Putting the assigned paper into context

• Other work by the author(s) of the assigned paper

• Supporting / controversial contributions in the literature

• Critical Analysis of research results presented in the assigned paper (based on students' analysis)

• Overall assessment of the paper (from students' point of view)

• References / Bibliography (quoted in the assignment)
