Overview
This class focusses
on the competitive, economic, legal and technical framework of the global music
market, the different roles in the value chain and the business model/economics
of a record label. Based on case studies (e.g. Napster), the class will
specifically discuss the challenges and opportunities of the music market moving
from a CD-based offline business into the digital future and will develop the
economics of a digital music retailer.
