Course Overview
The course deals with managing the business specificities of creative industries, i.e., the visual and performing arts, movies, theater, sound recordings, and book publishing, each combining the creative input of artists and a business side. It heavily builds on the book by R. Caves (2002) Creative Industries: Contracts Between Art and Commerce, Harvard University Press, Cambridge, MA. (ISBN 0-674-00808-1). Its conduct relates to the written assignment (see below).

Achievement of three credit
points requires appearence in all four sessions or a
medical certificate by the university's trusted medical
doctor.
Grade calculation:
Ü Limit yourself to assigned chapters of the book, do not research beyond the book.
Ü Objectivity, no valuation (Language: English!)
Ü Two copies and one electronic version (CD or disc, NO eMail) in Word format (NOT PDF!)
Ü Names, address, and examination number (Prüfungsnummer)
Ü Length: Max. 5 pages (Word 12pt, line spacing at least 1.2).
